Fostering is fun!

There is no cost to the foster for the care of their doggie visitors. The Houdini Fund will pay for the spay/neuter, shots, medicines, etc. that are needed to get the dog ready for transport or local adoption.

This application will help us know if you might be a good fit for a dog we are trying to save. Since we do not have a facility to house dogs, fosters are the lifeline these homeless dogs need to find a forever home. Fostering can last a few weeks to a month or more, depending on the health of the dog and when there is room on the transport.

We often hear that people would want to foster but that they would get too attached. It is true that fosters love the dogs and may find it hard to let go, but we tell ourselves that if we didn’t have a bit of heartache for a doggie guest that dog would not have had a chance at a new life. Fosters truly save lives and our program could not exist without the selflessness of these wonderful people.
